Social Media – How Conguent Are You?
How congruent are you when it comes to your online persona(s)? In other words, would a viewer of your social media presence be surprised by anything you post? Would they find themself puzzled by the online you and the real you? Is your online presence in agreement or harmony with the authentic you?
As an executive career coach, I’ve discovered that many of my clients tend to be unaware of the messages they send even when they don’t post a lot. For example, a missing picture on LinkedIn or worse, a low resolution picture taken by someone from a wedding that you two were in, is not a good use of the valuable real estate you’ve been given, for FREE. We spend time navigating and exploring the gift of virtual space and the roadmap that can professionally tell others your story.
Sites such as LinkedIn offer the opportunity to showcase your credentials and offer a platform to help people get to know you and to make connections.
Be yourself. Talk in first person and help me get to know the real you. Where have you been? What do you value? What can you teach me?
